Kuala Kelawang Touge – The Real Thing

I was on a business trip to Kem Bina Negara at Hutan Percha, Alor Gajah. Things ended early and I have some time to spare. So I took a big detour away from the usual NSE. I exited at Senawang and headed to a small village called Pantai, near Seremban.

From Pantai, I took the route going thru Kuala Kelawang, Titi, Kg Chennah then headed towards Hulu Langat. See the map below. Just look at the terrain, you should be able to guest how interesting this piece of tarmac is.

 * If you intend to pay a visit to this touge, skip the Kg Chennah/Kg Siamat part. It’s just too narrow to have fun.

KGC Track Day – 31st of May

Back to back track day. I was at SIC last week and here I was at KGC yesterday. Recent weekends have been jam packed with activities, which is a good thing I guess. No time to think about the unnecessary things, just pure enjoyment of life!

This has to be one of the most tiring day of recent memory. Left home at about 8am in the morning and reach KGC around 10am. Nowadays I use the Tapah exit instead of Bidor to reach Kg Gajah, which is nearer, unless I have to drop off Aiyu at the in-laws.

After the fun filled event, I had to rush back to KL for my nephews birthday party. Left KGC around 4.30pm and reached home around 6.30pm, it could have been faster if not due the the heavy traffic. With the manner I drove, other road users must thought I was a road thug, cutting in and out at speed that I’d rather keep to myself. But that was how I found out the inner lane was the fastest on a 3-lane expressway during heavy traffic.

SIC Track Day – 24th of May

[Backdated post]

I was at the Sepang F1 circuit open track day with TK and the gang from Cari forum. It has been some time since I last visited here. So the first few laps was to gain back the confidence going into corners at speed. Once the ‘feel’ was back, it was fun fun fun!

There was an accident at Turn 4 involving 3 cars, causing a red flag for almost 30 minutes. But nobody got hurt. That again shows how safe driving at a track, even at higher speed. Check out more at TK’s website.

Playing with my new toy!

This is long over due. It was raining today, so I brought my newly acquired KE70 for a drive. The car is still in stock condition. Having driven by an Auntie for more than 20 years, it’s time for the KE to stretch her legs.

An FR is an FR is an FR… it’s fun fun fun in the rain, even with the stock open differential. Surprisingly, the car has good balance. Throw the car into a corner, it would understeer a little. Put the power down and the tail will slide.

Will bring her to the touge and do some touge drift when I got more confident with the car. Stay tuned!
