Used Yokohama S306 tested

November 25, 2007 4 comments

I replaced the broken tyre with a year 2004 Yokohama S306. This tyre has more/deeper tread than my current tyres and it costs me RM40, plus balancing. I also asked them to flip inside out another 13″ at no charge, to be used for KG track day. :)

I have used these yokohamas before, back in the days when I was still using 13″ stock rims.

My initial plan today was to go Genting Sempah, but when I reached Bt Caves, I saw lots of cars in front. I knew this must be the Hindraf demonstration. Not wanted to take any chance, I immediately turn away from the mess.

Feeling disappointed, I came back and play at my ‘home track’. I have snapped a video, one hand on the camera and one hand on the steering wheel, but a slow lap of course. But I couldn’t upload it to YouTube, sorry… :(

I must say this used S306 is quite fun. It loses grip progressively. When push hard into a right hander(S306 at the left rear), right foot off the throttle, it would squeal and then become louder and louder and finally give up, then I would have to do a quick opposite lock to save the car from spinning… fun! :D

Broken rear tyre

November 24, 2007 4 comments

In a very unlikely and unlucky event, I ran over a 2.5 inch nail yesterday, on a busy road. The nail went thru the tread of the tyre and come out thru the side wall! Knn… this makes the tyre irrepairable :(

Went to the tyre shop this morning, the owner suggest me to get a used tyre so that I could change all the tyres at a later stage. Perhaps after the Dec 9th track day. :)

Pizza for Breakfast

November 23, 2007 2 comments

Aiyu cooked this frozen pizza named Aloha Chicken, bought from Jusco yesterday for dinner. I was too busy and couldn’t go home for dinner. So I kept them for breakfast this morning. But I add a little extra topping and make it Hawaiian Chicken instead… hahaha… :D

Sex after death…

November 21, 2007 Leave a comment

After a long life together, the husband was the first to die.  True to his word, he made the first contact, “Connie ….Connie.”:”Is that you, Joe?”

“Yes, I’ve come back like we agreed.”

“That’s wonderful!  What’s it like?”

“Well, I get up in the morning, I have sex. I have breakfast and then it’s off to the golf course.  I have sex again, bathe in the warm sun and then have sex a couple of more times.  Then I have lunch (you’d be proud – lots of greens) another romp around the golf course, then pretty much have sex the rest of the afternoon.  After supper, it’s back to golf course again.  Then it’s more sex until late at night.  I catch some much needed sleep and then the next day it starts all over again.”

“Oh, Joe you surely must be in Heaven!”

“Not exactly … I’m a rabbit on a golf course in Arizona .”

Sunday at Genting Sempah

November 18, 2007 4 comments

I SMSed 2 of my buddies yesterday, inviting them to join me for a Sunday drive at Genting Sempah, since both of them just put on new rubbers on their cars. As expected, both of them turned me down, quite disappointed really. I wish I had more hardcore driving buddies like TK over here in KL, who will never turn me down. Well, my hands were itchy, nothing could stop me… :) So I left my home at 7.30am this morning for a treat!

I love Sunday morning because of the low traffic volume, as you can see here.

After stopping for petrol, I drove slowly towards Gombak. 15 minutes later, I was at the starting point of the Gombak-Genting route. Wasted no time, I immediate gunned it. :) In the mean time, I managed to slow down to take some pics of this route to show my driving buddy TK.

Threshold braking here, the tail will go out a bit, then immediately turn right, love it :)

Taking the full line here, the roads are all mine!

Blind corners, beware of on coming lorries, and cyclists too!

As I was reaching the end of the touge near Genting foot hill, I saw a familiar Kenari at the side of the road, facing me. When I got nearer, it was MK, the buddy I had SMSed yesterday. It’s a pleasant surprise. :) I stopped and we chat for a while, checking on his newly shod Bridgestone Potenza RE030.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE030

Then we decided to head towards Bukit Tinggi via Janda Baik, another piece of nice mountain passes. We stopped in front of a secondary school at Bukit Tinggi. MK was low on fuel, so we decided to turn back.

Amazing view! Taken in front of the school.

Some stretch are full of debris!

Down hill from Genting towards Gombak was super fun. I throw the car into corners, it would go into a 4 wheel slide, then I must straighten the car before the tail go out… fun fun fun! :D I love the balance of my car. :)

I took some pics at the bottom of the hill while waiting for MK to arrive. He was driving slowly, because he needs to scrub the new tyres and get familiar with the characteristics of them.

Took this while waiting for MK

Love this shot!
